For years I have studied the masters who seemed to have it all – success, good family lives, excellent health, exciting lives, unbridled joy. I have studied their methods, their strategies, and as Tony Robbins recommends, modeled their behaviors.
At times in my life, I experienced extraordinary success; and during those times, it seemed almost effortless. I have also experienced times when nothing seemed to work, when everything was effort, and when I frankly felt like the dreams I had were simply figments of my imagination.
During the “down times,” I went back to the drawing board, reading and studying everything I could find about what must be the missing piece of the puzzle. Clearly, I had experienced success on many occasions, both personally and professionally, so what was wrong now? What was I not doing? What did I need to change? The obvious question was, “If I’d had success a few times, surely I had the success mindset, no?”
Big Secret: A success mindset is an “inside job” that you must work on moment to moment, thought by thought. To have a success mindset for life is a lifetime commitment. Consider your mind your “mental gym,” and just like a physical gym you attend to work out your muscles, it requires your attendance on a regular basis for consistent and increased results. When I’d quit working on my “inner thoughts,” the success vanished and was replaced by a series of struggles and losses.
So how do you develop and sustain the mindset for success? Allow me to share some stories with you and then some information and techniques I have found to help you create the mindset that will create the life you desire.
But first, I have a gift for you. This gift was given to me many years ago by a friend, Marie Barcus. Marie was the widow of a Duke University Paranormal Researcher, and she was a fascinating woman I’d met at a local spa. We were having dinner and I guess my tone was negative about something. Marie interrupted me and told me this story.
Marie herself was in her home and was complaining about something she’d seen on the news to her husband Len. Len stopped her and said: “Marie, if someone came to the front door of our home and walked into the living room and dumped a bucket of dirt on the floor, would that be OK with you?”
Marie replied, “Of course not.”
“Well, then,” Len responded, “Why do you let someone put dirt into hour mind? Marie, I’m going to give you a gift. I’m going to give you a Porter to stand at the door of your mind. I want you to imagine your Porter standing there, and whenever a negative thought tries to enter, just see your Porter putting his hand up and forbidding that thought entrance into your mind. “
Marie smiled as she told me the story. She said that for years afterward, whenever a negative thought would try to enter her conversation with her husband Len, he would simply look at her and softly remind her: “Marie, stand Porter at your door.”
I consider that experience one of the greatest lessons of my life. I had no idea then just how powerful our thoughts were, nor did I even know that I could actively monitor them, but now more than 25 years later, with the advent of quantum physics, and the knowledge we have from science and spirituality, clearly our thoughts and emotions are part of how we create our reality and the big key is: We Are In Control.
So what are the best ways to build and sustain a “success mindset?” Here are some
techniques and behaviors that will help you.
1. First, start by listening to your thoughts and words. To build a success mindset, you need to know what must be upgraded in your mental library. The biggest obstacle to a success mindset has everything to do with consciousness, beliefs, and even subconscious programming that you aren’t aware of.
2. Become aware of the beliefs that may be driving you. Here is one technique. On a piece of paper, draw a line down the middle. On the left side, write out an affirmation such as “I am very rich now.” On the right side of the line, immediately without censoring what you write, write your responses.
They might look something like this:
- I’ll never be rich, who am I kidding?
- I can’t be rich and spiritual. I choose spiritual.
- Some people are destined to be rich; I’m not one of them.
- Rich people are superficial – I don’t want to be like that.
- I just don’t have what it takes to be wealthy.
- I’m not smart, educated, motivated, intelligent enough.
3. After identifying your limiting beliefs, work on them one by one to reprogram more desirable beliefs. Each time you catch yourself thinking one of these limiting thoughts, challenge it head on and replace it.
Example: I’ll never be rich, who am I kidding?
Replacement: There is no reason I cannot be wealthy. People from all walks of life have become very wealthy. There is no Universal Rule that says I cannot be one of them. Of course, I can be wealthy. I just need to start researching the best ways to do that.
“Poverty is not an absence of money and things-it is a mindset. Prosperity is not an abundance of money and things-it’s also a mindset.” Randy Gage
4. How do you reprogram effectively? As I studied the ones I deemed successful, I noticed that many of them had re-programmed themselves by using psycho-cybernetics techniques. Dan Kennedy, one of the world’s most powerful marketers and trainers, used to stutter and was held back by it. He took psycho-cybernetics, and as he says “re-engineered my self esteem.” Now he is a multi-millionaire that helps others become multi-millionaires. He also has a rich personal life, a love of race horses, and travels the world to speak in front of hundreds of thousands.
Psycho-cybernetics helps you reprogram your thoughts for success – both from the conscious level of mind and the deeper, subconscious levels of mind. As you will read below, when you program from the deeper levels of mind, your results are faster and far more effective.
5. Learn to meditate. It is estimated that programming from the deep levels of mind that you reach in deep meditation or hypnosis, can be as much as 100 times more powerful than programming from the conscious level of mind. Learn to meditate and then learn to program your new beliefs and desires from those deeper, more serene levels of mind.
6. Program your conscious and subconscious minds with visuals: 3X5 cards, vision boards, positive images. Jack Canfield of Chicken Soup for the Soul fame is now a multi-multi-millionaire (that’s right – two multi’s.) He still uses visuals to program his mind on a regular basis. What’s good enough for him is good enough for me!
A personal story. How 3X5 cards took his business from $300,000 to $18 million. My friend Dennis is a Realtor in Denver. I met him 30 years ago when he was a new Realtor and I was new loan officer. Average home prices back then were $18,000 (now that dates me doesn’t it?) At any rate, the first day I met Dennis, I noticed a 3X5 card under the glass top on his desk with this written on it: $300,000. I asked him what that was for, and he said, “That’s how much real estate I want to sell my first year.” (Of course, based on prices then, that would equate to approximately 17 houses or 1 ½ homes a month.)
Now Dennis does not believe in anything mystical, so all he did was place the card there so his subconscious mind could see it and then go to work on making that reality happen.
Last year, almost 30 years later, I went into Dennis’s office and his 3X5 card under the glass top on his desk had this amount on it $18 million. And he exceeded that! The power of programming your subconscious mind daily with visuals is very powerful!
7. BIG ONE. Get into the company of folks that are higher up the food chain than you are. Listen to how they think, get into their energy, watch their responses to circumstances. Now you might not understand the concept of “energy,” but we now know from science that this is a Universe of vibrations.
When you are in the vibrational fields of successful people, you are in sympathetic resonance with them, and your vibrations will escalate. That is why so many successful people have regular master mind groups – so they help each other continue to grow.
In Itzhak Bentov’s book, “Stalking the Wild Pendulum,” he describes an experiment with grandfather clocks. Two clocks are placed in the same room, their pendulums out of sync. Within a couple of days, their pendulums are swinging in perfect harmony! More exciting, as each new grandfather clock is brought into the room, the pendulums all synchronize in hours, not days!
It is said that you will become the sum total of the five people you spend the most time with. Look around. Is that enough? If not, upgrade your acquaintances.
And that includes your work environment. If you are in a toxic work environment, find a new job! Get out of there! The longer you stay in a negative environment, the more your vibrations diminish. More importantly, the LESS able you are to believe you can create something better, or even envision it.
Toxic office environments not only steal your creativity, they steal your spirit.
8. Here is another powerful technique for upgrading your consciousness and your mindset. Every time you catch yourself thinking a negative thought, ask yourself this: “Is this what I want to create?” If it is not, immediately change the thought and replace it with one that will create what you desire!
It is a similar technique to “stand porter at your door,” and very effective because you immediately choose a NEW thought.
9. What if you have issues of believing you are not worthy of your desires? Here is my answer to that. It is your Divine Right to live a Divine Life Experience. More, you were given special gifts and talents that no other human on this planet has, and it is YOUR DUTY to develop those gifts and share them! It is not about worth, it is about your DUTY to do all that you can with what was given you.
So, the next time you have questions of worthiness, ask yourself this question: “Did the Creator of this vast Universe decide I was any less worthy than any other Divine Human? Do the messages from parents, bosses or peers who criticized me reflect the Divine Truth of who I am?”
In a recent meditation, I heard the phrase, “Don’t steal from God.” I realized that my inner self was telling me to get to work, release my gifts, shut off the TV, and honor the wonderful gifts I have been given by giving back. Recognize your spiritual source, and live from that. Be all that you can be, and you will be surprised one day to find out how much that really is!
10. Take care of your physical health, eat healthy foods that are high vibrational foods, avoid toxic foods, drinks, thoughts and behaviors. Send the message to your inner self that you are taking care of you and that you deserve optimum health. Your subconscious mind will get the message and continue to help you upgrade the outer part of your life.
BONUS TIP: Get away from the TV and the news! The majority of programs are negative, decrease your creativity, and ultimately, you have given away all that time that you could have been using to create a better life.
Let me ask you a question: How old are you? Let’s say you’re 40. That means you have been alive 350,400 hours! Now, if you watch even 2 hours of TV daily since you were let’s say 8 years old, that is 23,360 hours! That equals 11 years of a full time 40 hour a week job!
You could have used that time to do some of the following:
- Get another degree
- Learn a new language
- Learn to play an instrument
- Learn to scuba dive or sail
- Learn to fly
- Write that book that is inside of you
- Volunteer to help others less fortunate
- Climb that mountain that’s calling out to you
- Create a passive income stream so you can travel to those exotic islands
- Add so much more to your memory book!
Life is a journey of choices. You are the chooser. Choose to Live the life that is your Divine Birthright!
Opinions are like assholes and everybody’s got one! You know the saying… and as another school year begins, I feel the pressure yet again, not to succumb to the ass-holery that exists among judging adults.
Whether I’m at the playground or grocery store, I cringe when people ask, “whatever will you do with your free time now that your children are back in school”. I try not to imagine them thinking of me in a bubble bath eating bonbons.
I’ll be the first to admit, as a recovering workaholic and overachiever with four children, it’s nearly impossible to achieve work-life balance and succeed as a mother. I want to wear a t-shirt that says, ‘I’ve worked full-time, part-time, and been a stay at home mother, and I support your choice’.
I was relieved to move to another part of the country last fall where no one knew what I was capable of work and volunteer wise, allowing myself time to breathe and adjust my children to the enormous transition. The major relocation and subsequent legal issues with our new home additionally bought me sympathy and patience from those inquiring as to my job prospects and volunteer capabilities.
I am grateful for Cindy at the local grocery store last who saw my anguish on the first day of school last year after dropping my eldest children at their new middle school. I burst into tears as she asked how I felt to have my children in school, rather than what I was going to do for work. I instantly felt a connection to this empathetic mother with grown children, who had also chosen to stay at home while raising her own children. Tears of gratitude and tears of anxiety for my children in their new schools melted together into a blubbering mess in Cindy’s checkout lane. Cindy immediately did what no one else had done for me before… she stopped everything and yelled over to the barista at the latté counter, “I need a double latté pronto, to go!” She took care of my needs, without judging my situation, a first for me as a seasoned middle-aged woman. I promptly retreated to the picnic benches in the parking lot to compose myself before biking home, yet I’ve never forgotten Cindy’s kindness and we still smile together when remembering our first encounter in the checkout line.
I was raised by a mother who values society’s impressions of her and her family, always conducting herself with perfect public demeanor. “Kristen’s a commercial banker in Chicago,” was a proud line she uttered upon my graduation from university. Banker, lawyer, doctor were all justifiable professions in her mind, but never stay at home mom with a college degree. A woman not content to stay at home herself throughout my childhood due to career goals and financial needs, my mother always inquired what my next project would be as I volunteered countless hours as a community activist, with four babies in tow. Fulfilled, yet extremely busy making a difference in my hometown, I never felt adequate enough to onlookers, let alone my mother. I was constantly struggling to keep up with the demands of children, a household, and community projects, while coping with insurmountable physical pain, no doubt the result of irresolvable stress. You can imagine how perplexed I was to hear my mother say, “You have no business getting a job with four children,” when I secured a part-time job after my fourth child was born. Needless to say, having worked my way up to my second part-time job, with hours exceeding 40-60/week at times, failing to pick-up my children from school on time, and struggling to manage a meal with little food left in the pantry, I began to wonder who I was truly out to please when my health and personal life began to suffer.
In hindsight, it was my decision to have four children; admittedly I had become infatuated with the sweet ‘Eau de Nouveau Bébé’ fragrance prior to a few romantic getaways with my husband. (In an ironic twist of fate, we no longer have the time nor the money to take trips alone together!) I live with no regrets and I’m desperately in love with my family. I am also fortunate to have a certain amount of privilege to be able to choose the title of ‘home economist’, taking care of a busy household, receiving pay in whines, cries, stubbornness, with a sprinkle of hugs and kisses. Honestly, the hours are long, the pay stinks, I’m not earning retirement anymore, but the benefits are numerous to my family when I’m in balance. I miss making a difference outside of the home at times, and judging from history, I may return to work for income after I catch my breath. I find nowadays that it’s easier to ‘Lean In’ as Sheryl Sandberg expressed, when you have prepared meals, a nanny and a house cleaner in the budget. However, based on my experience and societal observations, when two spouses or single parents have demanding jobs, work-life balance is seemingly impossible as parents.
I’ve known mothers who describe being ‘better mothers because they work outside of the home’, mothers who are fulfilled by their careers climbing the corporate ladder or owning their own business, mothers who have no choice but to work to support their family, and mothers who prefer to stay at home while raising children. I’ve struggled with fulfillment from many of these shared experiences. I salute all mothers in solidarity as we do our best in spite of the demands!
The spouses behind successful mothers are often irreplaceable themselves. I will never forget the time my twelve-year-old exclaimed last spring at the dinner table, “mom has time to do it, she doesn’t work all day.” My husband immediately shot back without hesitation, “who takes care of the scheduling the entire house, volunteers at school, and manages every minute detail to ensure this household functions so easily?” I either became choked up with tears of gratitude, or snorted my drink in shock, I honestly can’t remember, but my children and I will never forget the impact of his simple statement.
There will always be naysayers, ‘the opinionated’, who form their own conclusions from their vantage point, albeit with clouded lenses. To those adults, I’ve made it my challenge this year to be empathetic to their own personal statements, made in reflection of their lives and not mine, and try to keep my sarcastic self-preservation retorts to myself.
The single mother who confided in me, “I hate when the young mothers with strollers parade by my house in exercise clothes while their hubbies are at work bringing in six figures.” The nail tech at the salon who asked if I ‘stay at home’ and responded with “lucky”, to which I’ll admit, I felt an embarrassing cringe of guilt in front of my daughter. The mothers who exclaimed, “I could never let someone else raise my children” as I dropped my four-year-old at full-day preschool or who heard that I had summer childcare. And of course, the small business owner who inquired what would I do with all my free time now that my kids are in school. Even my own mother… These are their stories, not mine.
Yesterday, I saw Cindy in the checkout line, one week into the new school year. She smiled and said that she was thinking of me the other day and was wondering how I’m enjoying the neighborhood and if the kids are well-adjusted this year. Cindy remarked how when her kids were in school that she would no sooner drop them off than have to turn around to pick them up, the hours flew by so fast she hardly could get anything finished, and now they’re gone! “Enjoy this time if you can and don’t get a job outside the home if you don’t have to” she advised with a warm smile. “Thank you Cindy, I think I’ll work from home,” I replied and reflected… Cindy, the world needs more of you!
The Pharmaceutical Drug companies continue to promote more vaccines but are all of these vaccinations safe. No matter how safe these vaccines are supposed to be there are always some people who suffer from adverse vaccination side effects. In many cases the vaccine actually causes the disease they were meant to protect against. Following are some examples of vaccine dangers.
Rhesus monkey kidneys were used in the production of the Salk and Sabin Polio vaccinations which were distributed between 1954 and 1963. The monkey kidneys contained the simian virus SV-40 hence the vaccines were contaminated with the simian virus.
During the 1990’s various studies confirmed the presence of the Rhesus monkey simian virus in the tumours of many cancer victims. It seems that SV-40 can interfere with a cell’s ability to resist malignancy due to blocking a key protective protein — SV-40 can trigger cancer.
In 1967, Ghana was declared measles free by the World Health Organisation after 96% of its population was vaccinated. In 1972, Ghana experienced one of its worst measles outbreaks with its highest ever mortality rate.
According to the Lancet. In the 1970`s a tuberculosis vaccine trial in India involving 260,000 people revealed that more cases of TB occurred in the vaccinated than the unvaccinated.
As reported in the Science Journal published in April 1977. Dr Jonas Salk, who developed the first polio vaccine, testified along with other scientists that mass inoculation against polio was the cause of most polio cases throughout the USA since 1961.
5. Swine flu.
The swine flu outbreak in the United States in 1976 resulted in five people getting the swine flu and one death. Forty-five million people were given the swine flu vaccination, of those, 4000 suffered serious physical harm and, according to a CBS television program broadcast in 1979, there were 300 deaths. The most common illness to develop because of the vaccine was Guillain-Barre Syndrome. It seems that the reason for the large number of adverse reactions was the fact that the vaccine, code named X53A, was not tested for safety.
6. Whooping cough.
According to the medical publisher BMJ Group. In 1979, Sweden abandoned the whooping cough vaccine due to its ineffectiveness. Out of 5,140 cases in 1978, it was found that eighty-four percent had been vaccinated three times.
7. DPT vaccine.
In the United States, the cost of a single DPT vaccine had risen from 11 cents in 1982 to $11.40 in 1987. The vaccine manufacturers were putting aside $8 per shot to cover legal costs and damages they were paying out to parents of brain damaged children and children who died after vaccination.
An article published in the Lancet, in 1991, stated that in Oman between 1988 and 1989, a polio outbreak occurred amongst thousands of fully vaccinated children. The region with the highest number of polio cases had the highest vaccine coverage. The region with the lowest attack rate had the lowest vaccine coverage.
In 1990, the Journal of the American Medical Association had an article on measles which stated — Although more than 95 percent of school-aged children in the US are vaccinated against measles, large measles outbreaks continue to occur in schools and most cases in this setting occur among previously vaccinated children.
10. Whooping cough.
According to a study published in the New England Journal of Medicine July 1994 issue. Eighty percent of children less than 5 years old with whooping cough had been fully vaccinated.
The World Health Organisation has had to admit that the polio vaccination campaign in Nigeria is not going well. Some children, so far low numbers but increasing, are developing polio caused by the virus in the vaccine. It seems that the virus, though weakened, can mutate and cause paralysis. So far this year, 2009, there are over 120 cases, double last years total.
12. Cervical cancer.
The HPV vaccine Gardasil is still making the news with the latest figures for adverse reactions. As of August 2009, in the US, there have been 12,424 adverse reaction reports. 772 (6.2 percent) were serious and included 32 reports of death.
One reason why there have been so many instances of young girls been harmed by Gardasil, could be because the vaccine is the first genetically modified vaccine to be released for mass distribution.
Gardasil was licensed in June of 2006, by the Food and Drug Administration, for girls and young women between the ages of nine and twenty-six. There is still, as yet, no scientific evidence that the HPV vaccine will protect women from cervical cancer.
This is because the majority of women who develop cervical cancer do so over the age of 48. It could be 20 or 30 years before there is proof that the vaccine actually does, or does not, work.
The above are just some examples of campaigns where adults and children suffered vaccination side effects and in some campaigns death. There are more.
1. Where are lions still found in the wild?
A. Africa south of the Sahara Desert
B. Northwest India
C. Both A and B
D. The zoo
C. Both A and B
TOPICS: Today, lions are found in the wild in only two places on earth. About 100,000 lions survive in Africa south of the Sahara Desert. Another 300 lions, called Asian lions, live in a reserve called the Gîr National Park and Lion Sanctuary in northwest India.
2. Elephants are the largest land animals and among the longest-lived. How long does the average elephant live?
A. 100 years
B. 60 years
C. 40 years
D. 20 years
B. 60 years
TOPICS: Highly intelligent and strong, elephants are the largest land animals and are among the longest-lived, with life spans of 60 years or more. Healthy, full-grown elephants have no natural enemies other than humans.
3. Apes are highly intelligent primates. How many species of ape are there?
TOPICS: An ape is any of 13 species including chimpanzees, gorillas, gibbons, and orangutans. Apes are sometimes confused with monkeys, but unlike their smaller primate counterparts, apes do not have tails and their arms are usually longer than their legs. Apes live in tropical woodlands and forests of Africa and Asia.
4. Hippopotamuses are often called river horses for what trait?
A. They are horses that only graze with a river in sight
B. They are horses who choose to spend most days in water
C. They can breathe underwater thanks to the gills behind their ears
D. Their noses have special flaps that close when they go underwater
D. Their noses have special flaps that close when they go underwater
TOPICS: Hippopotamuses actually resemble pigs more than horses. They have large heads with small eyes and small ears; their nostrils, surrounded by sparse, bristly hairs, are equipped with special flaps that close down when the animal goes underwater.
5. Great apes have well-developed brains and are among the most intelligent of all animals. What trait do they demonstrate that we thought only humans possess?
A. Creating Haiku poetry
B. Making alcoholic beverages
C. Space travel
D. Making tools
D. Making tools
TOPICS: In the wild, chimpanzees and orangutans are known to make simple tools, such as sharpened sticks used to extract insects from holes in tree trunks. Toolmaking involves a preconceived image of what the tool will look like, a visualization ability that is only possible with an advanced brain. Orangutans have even been observed untying knots, working out for themselves the steps necessary to achieve this complex task.
6. Which Zebra trait is NOT true?
A. Zebras can recognize other zebras by the pattern of stripes on their bodies
B. Mountain zebras take a dust bath almost every day
C. Grevy’s zebra and the mountain zebra are endangered due to illegal hunting and habitat destruction
D. Larger than a horse
D. Larger than a horse
TOPICS: Zebra, striped mammal native to Africa, smaller in size than the related horse and greatly resembling the wild ass in habit and form, having a short, erect mane, large ears, and a tufted tail. The stripes, which distinguish this animal from other members of the horse family, serve as protective coloration in its natural habitat.
7. Despite their immense strength, lions do not have an easy life in the wild. They suffer from parasites and disease, they get injured or even killed while hunting or fighting with each other, and they may starve when food is scarce. How many cubs die before they are 1 year old?
D. Nearly all
TOPICS: About two-thirds of all cubs die before they are 1 year old. Adult males are usually old and battered by age 10, if they survive that long, and they rarely live longer than 12 years. Females may live longer, up to 16 years, and some are still breeding at 15. In zoos, where they receive veterinary care and plenty of food-and are not allowed to fight-lions can live as long as 25 years.
8. Fossils of elephant ancestors indicate they once lived on what continents?
A. Only Africa and Asia
B. Australia and Antarctica
C. All except Australia and Antarctica
D. Europe and the Americas
C. All except Australia and Antarctica
TOPICS: Fossils of elephant ancestors indicate they once lived on every continent except Australia and Antarctica, but elephant habitat today is restricted to Africa and parts of Southeast Asia. Elephants occupy an array of environments in Africa and Southeast Asia-grasslands, marshes, forests, deserts, and mountains. They are herbivores, or plant eaters, and need great quantities of food to sustain their massive size. They also need a lot of drinking water and so are restricted to areas with ample vegetation and adequate water.
The traditional saunas of the past relied on maintaining very high temperatures by splashing water on hot stones. Today, modern saunas, better known as far infrared saunas, surround the user with far infrared heat panels. These panels are more effective at warming your core and can be plugged into any wall outlet at home. With less frequent trips to the doctor’s office and only an additional $4.00 a month to your electric bill, infrared saunas have fast become a standard option when purchasing a new home or upgrading to your existing home. The health benefits and research are growing daily. Here are the top 10 benefits our research has found:
1) LOOSE WEIGHT
Weight loss is one of the benefits of using an FIR (Far Infrared) sauna each day for only 20-40 minutes. Fat becomes water-soluble at a temperature of 100 F° before it begins to dissolve and enter the bloodstream to be removed from the body. In an FIR sauna, fat is removed through sweat. Many people who have unsuccessfully attempted weight loss through conventional dieting will be pleased with the fat-burning results of an FIR sauna. Often the inability to lose weight is associated with chemical toxicity. As these toxins are removed from the body while using the FIR sauna, weight loss naturally follows. FIR saunas are the ONLY natural, healthy way to burn calories without exercising.
Use of a FIR sauna has a cumulative effect on the body; that daily use magnifies its benefits. Your first experience in an FIR sauna will be a pleasant one. After several days and then weeks, detoxification, weight loss, immune building and other benefits will increase dramatically. One must experience this cumulative effect to understand it completely.
“Assuming one takes a 30 minute sauna, some interesting comparisons can be made. Two of the highest calorie output exercises are rowing and running marathons. Peak output on a rowing machine or during a marathon burns about 600 calories in 30 minutes. An infrared sauna may better this from “just slightly” up to 250 percent by burning 900 to 2400 calories in the same period of time. A single sauna session can simulate the consumption of energy equal to that expended in a 6-9 mile run.” ~Aaron M. Flickstein
Far Infrared strengthens the Cardiovascular System by causing an increase in your heart rate, cardiac output, and diastolic blood pressure decrease. Many people who are bound to a wheel chair have benefited greatly by getting a cardiovascular workout without ever leaving their home. Blood flow during a sauna session is reported to rise from a normal 5-7 quarts a minute to as many as 13 quarts a minute. This beneficial “heart workout” leads to the desired cardiovascular training and conditioning effects.
Medical research confirms the use of a sauna provides cardiovascular conditioning as the body works to cool itself. This results in substantial increases in heart rate, cardiac output and metabolic rate. Extensive research by NASA in the early 1980’s led to the conclusion that far infrared stimulation would be the ideal way to maintain cardiovascular conditioning in American astronauts during long space flight.
Far Infrared is excellent for detoxing your body, internally and externally. Scientists in Japan report that in the FIR treatment of clogged capillary vessels, heat expands the capillaries and then initiates the start of a process to dissolve hidden toxins. Far Infrared thereby promotes elimination of fats, chemicals and toxins from the blood: Poisons, carcinogenic heavy metals – toxic substances from food processing – lactic acid, free fatty acids, and subcutaneous fat associated with aging and fatigue – excess sodium associated with hypertension – and uric acid which causes pain. Furthermore, if sebaceous glands are activated, accumulated cosmetics in pores can be eliminated through the skin (sweat and oil glands) rather than by the kidneys.
Since infrared heat is able to penetrate your inside your body up to two inches, you will sweat up to three times more than with the traditional saunas of the past.
The Result: These nasty toxins inside your body that make you feel sick, tired, and cause you to take on weight are eliminated. With an infrared sauna up to 300% more carcinogenic heavy metals, sodium, cholesterol, nicotine, and alcohol are eliminated than with a standard type sauna.
4) STRENGTHEN YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM
Far Infrared strengthens immunity by stimulating increased production of white blood cells (leukocytes) by the bone marrow and killer T-cells by the thymus. This has been proven to increase the body’s ability to fight off bacteria, colds, flues, and other ailments.
Another way Far Infrared Saunas have a positive effect on increasing your immunity is by creating an “Artificial Fever”. Fever is a natural healing response of the body. The function of the immune system is increased naturally during a fever, while virus and bacterial growth is slowed, weakening its hold. This helps the body ward off invading organisms. A FIR heat treatment in the early stages of a cold or flu has been known to stop the disease before the symptoms occur. Many health practitioners use FIR as a method for removing immune killing toxins from the body.
“I just wanted to write you and give you an update on the sauna we purchased from you last Fall. You may remember I was experimenting chronic sinus infections for over 18 months. These infections were brought on by getting sick again and again. No matter how much Vitamin C I took, or Airborne I drank I just couldn’t seem to shake the “common cold”. The constant strain and stress on my body brought my immunity down to nothing and exposed me to almost everything out there. I have been using my Infrared Sauna for only six months, combined with a vegetable juicing daily. I would never have believed it if I hadn’t experienced it. Christmas came and went, my kids have been sick, my husband has been sick and I HAVE NOT. I feel my energy coming back and I am no longer worried about catching germs on the shopping cart or the public restroom. It has been six months and no cold. I just wanted to thank you; I wish I would have found your sauna store before all of my doctor visits.” God Bless – Heather Deevorse
5) RHEAUMATOID ARTHRITIS
A case study reported in Germany worked with a 72 year old woman who had a severe case of rheumatoid arthritis secondary to acute rheumatic fever. She had reached her toxic limit of gold injections and his Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR) was still 126. After using an infrared sauna for less than 4 months, her ESR was down to 12.
A professional baseball player for the Yankees had to take himself out of the game after 2 innings due to arthritic pain. With a contract looming and the prospect of going from playing 2 innings to 0 his physical therapist put him on 60 minute a day infrared sauna sessions. Within 3 months he was able to complete 6 innings of pitching with minimal pain and without prescription drugs.
6) CANCER THERAPY
Cancer cannot survive in an environment of temperatures more than 42 degrees Celsius (107.6 degrees Fahrenheit). In addition to its detoxifying effects, far infrared heat actually helps kill cancer cells, increase the effectiveness of chemotherapy and reduce the side-effects of conventional therapies. At the same time, it boosts the body’s regenerative abilities and decreases pain by increasing circulation, which makes it beneficial in treating other condition such as arthritis, gout poor circulation. Neuralgia and abnormal nerve function.
In one cancer study by the European Society for Hyperthermic Oncology that examined 5 year survival rates of patients with malignant melanoma, 28 percent of those who underwent only radiation survived five years. Of those who combined radiation and infrared sauna therapy treatment once a day, 46 percent survived. Neither group did any other holistic therapies.
Another trial at St. George Hospital in Bad Aibling, Germany involved late-stage ovarian cancer patients who had previously undergone chemotherapy. Using a combination of chemotherapy and hyperthermia, 69 percent experienced positive improvements and 15.5 percent went into remission.
7) INCREASES BLOOD FLOW
Far Infrared heat expands capillaries which stimulates increased blood flow, regeneration, circulation and oxygenation. Increased blood flow has been proven to improve hair, skin, erectile dysfunction, aid in the healing of injuries, recovery of muscles and joint stiffness.
Introducing heat deep into your muscles produces an increased blood flow and temperature rise similar to the levels measured during brisk exercise. Temperature elevation also produces an increased blood flow and dilation directly in capillaries, arterioles, and venules, probably through direct action on their smooth muscles. The release of bradykinin, released as a consequence of sweat-gland activity, also produces increased blood flow and vasodilatation.
8) IMPROVE SKIN
Far Infrared heat increases blood circulation throughout your skin which is mandatory for glowing, beautiful, and youthful skin. Make up and concealers are just that, they are hiding the facts. Infrared heat penetrates deep into those facts pushing out these toxins while rejuvenating your skin. To truly slow the aging process it essential to push these pollutants out of your pores instead of trapping them with lotions and make up. There is no better feeling than a healthy sweat in a sauna while drinking fresh water. It’s like turning on the fire hose and flushing your whole body out.
Try this test the next time you take a sauna: Wash your face with your very best product you have before going into an infrared sauna. Make sure to bring a small white towel into the sauna with you, work up a good sweat and use this towel to wipe your face. You will be shocked at how much dirt you just wiped off your “clean face”. This is because the infrared heat is penetrating deep under your skin pushing out the toxins which have made a home deep into your pores.
Another benefit to infrared sauna therapy is the break down of cellulite. Cellulite is a gel-like substance made up of water, fat and wastes trapped deep in pockets under your skin. Many Dermatologists are now recommending the use of infrared saunas with any anti-cellulite program as the profuse sweating helps clear the unwanted debris from your body.
Here is a list of the most common reported benefits of infrared sauna therapy for the skin:
- Nettle rash
- Clogged pores are unplugged of cosmetics creating a skin texture and tone of unexcelled quality.
- Poor skin tone is restored to a more youthful level
- Scars and pain from burns or wounds are decreased in severity and extent. Infrared therapy is used routinely in burn units throughout Asia
- Lacerations heal quicker and with less pain and scarring
- Acne: Three or four infrared treatments may open pores that have not been functioning in years, forcing out clogging cosmetics and loosening dead outer skin. The sauna is thus a boon to teenage skin, clearing acne and blackheads
- Body odor: by improving the function of the skin, the infrared treatments may eliminate the cause of offensive body odor. It definitely reduces body odor induced by occupational exposure to odorous chemicals
- Eczema and Psoriasis: reported to have responded extremely well to infrared treatments
- Sunburn: according to the 9th edition of Clayton’s Electrotherapy, “infrared is the only antidote to excessive ultraviolet radiation.”
- Keloids forms at a reduced rate in those prone to their formation with infrared treatments and may be softened by use of infrared systems if they have form.
9) INJURIES AND IT’S PAIN
Far infrared saunas have been proven to reduce pain sensation by getting heat deep into both the free-nerve endings in tissues as well as on the peripheral nerves. Pain is often associated with a lack of blood supply to the injured area due to tension or spasms. The introduction of heat deep into these areas helps to eliminate further spasms which in turn alleviate the pain.
Far Infrared promotes rebuilding of injured tissue by having a positive effect on the fibroblasts (connective tissue cells necessary for the repair of injury). Furthermore, it increases growth of cells, DNA syntheses, and protein synthesis all necessary during tissue repair and regeneration.
Many home saunas now utilize Chromo therapy for added benefits. Chromo therapy, also called color therapy, is the use of color and light to gently bring about homeostasis. Color and light is applied to specific areas and accupoints on the body. Color and light have been used for healing since the beginning of recorded time. Ancient Egyptians built solarium-type rooms with colored panes of glass. The sun would shine through the glass and flood the patient with color. Some people use colored silk cloths which are placed on the body and then flooded with sunlight. Early color and light healers in the modern world used colored gels and sheets of glass to apply light to the body. Others used color infused water and color meditations to send healing rays to the person.
Today, there are many practitioners who use color and light in interesting ways. Some therapists have a box with a mechanism that flickers light into the eyes. They report success in speeding the recovery of stroke victims and those persons who experience chronic depression. All of our saunas come standard with the full spectrum of chromo therapy lighting
What is subliminal perception? Does it really affect your mind and behavior? Subliminal CDs and programs are one of the most recent tools in the self-development field that offers the promise of helping people make dramatic life changes conveniently, inexpensively and with little effort. But, to what degree does subliminal programming work?
Subliminal Perception, A Natural Process…
Perception is the natural, normal way you receive impressions from your environment. Subliminal refers to information that is perceived below the level of conscious awareness. Normally, you pay conscious attention to a very small percentage of information that you experience through our sense and your mind. Try this test: take a moment to focus your attention on the sounds around you and you will discover there are many background noises you normally completely ignore…consciously that is. These sounds probably include traffic noise, machinery, conversations, birds, insects, etc. Nevertheless you are aware of this constant bombardment of stimuli, even though it is perceived below your conscious awareness by your extremely receptive and sensitive subconscious mind.
Interest in subliminal communication first developed shortly after Freud presented his revolutionary idea that we all have a hidden, unconscious mind. One of Freud’s contemporaries, Dr. O. Poetzle, developed and tested theories related to the effect of subliminal stimulation on dream content. In 1917, Poetzle was the first scientist to demonstrate the close relationship between subliminal stimuli and posthypnotic suggestion. His discovery, called the Poetzle Effect, indicates that subliminal perceptions evoke dreams and actions days or weeks after the original perception.
In the last 50 years, many hundreds of carefully controlled scientific studies have been conducted on subliminal perception. An abundance of scientific data resulting from decades of research indicates that subliminal perception does occur and information perceived subliminally does affect the unconscious or subconscious mind. And most importantly, subliminal programming has been shown to be an effective tool for influencing and changing behavior. Controversy over subliminal stimuli arises precisely because it does influence people’s behavior without their conscious awareness.
Subliminal Messages Used in Stores to Reduce Shoplifting…
It was discovered that subliminal messages could be masked in music or other audio programs. An article in TIME magazine in 1979, titled, ‘Secret Voices,’ reported that nearly 50 department stores in the U.S. and Canada were using subliminal messages in the music systems to reduce shoplifting and employee theft. One East Coast chain was reported to have reduced theft by 37%, amounting to the phenomenal savings of $600,000 over a nine-month period.
A similar story in the WALL STREET JOURNAL in 1980 stated the installation of a subliminal message system in a New Orleans supermarket accounted for a drop in pilferage loss from almost $50,000 per six months to ‘the astounding figure of less than $13,000’ – an all time low! Cashier shortages dropped from $125 per week to less than $10 per week. Subliminal messages found to be effective were statements like, “I take a great deal of pride in being honest. I will not steal. I am honest.”
Scientific Evidence: Subliminal Messages Influence Behavior
Extensive Documentation of Subliminal Perception
In his scholarly work titled “Preconscious Processing,” Dr. Norman Dixon, a psychologist at University College in London, England, summarizes 748 scholarly research studies on subliminal perception.
Included in Dixon’s authoritative work is a research study by Zuckerman (1960), that revealed a subliminal stimulus can by-pass conscious intent, and that it makes it unlikely a person would resist instructions which are not consciously experienced. Zuckerman required his subjects to write stories around Thematic Apperception Test cards. Superimposed on the ambiguous pictures on the cards were either the subliminal message, “Write More” or “Don’t Write.” As long as the instructions were subliminal, these messages had the desired effect. However, as soon as they were able to be perceived consciously, the messages had no consistent effect.
Behavioral Improvements Result from Subliminal Messages…
Dr. Lloyd H. Silverman, a psychologist at New York University, has been at the forefront of subliminal testing for 20 years. His work, with over 40 groups of subjects, has shown significant improvements in behavior after exposure to selected subliminal messages. IN a 1980 study, Silverman incorporated a subliminal message into a treatment of half of a group of smokers trying to quit smoking using behavior modification therapy. One month after treatment ended, 66% of the group exposed to the activating subliminal stimulus were still non-smokers, compared with 13% of the control group. Silverman says the positive effect of subliminal messages has been observed in assertiveness training classes, adolescents receiving psychotherapy, college students in group therapy, alcoholics in Alcoholics Anonymous counseling, and in people undergoing behavior modification for insect phobias and overeating.
Subliminal Messages Improve Academic Performance…
An article in the Journal of Counseling Psychology, Volume 29, 1982, reports on a study by Dr. Kenneth Parker, a psychologist at Queens College in New York. Dr. Parker’s research project was designed to see if subliminal messages can improve academic performance. Sixty students received visual subliminal messages using a light-flashing device called a tachistoscope. Three times a week, before class, the students looked through the eyepiece of the tachistoscope and saw a fast flash of bright light, nothing more. In the four millisecond flash was embedded a single sentence. The class was divided into three groups, each receiving a different message. Two messages were designed to enhance academic performance; the third was a control.
Careful statistical analysis of the results of the subliminal stimulation revealed significant improvement in academic performance. Groups one and two, receiving activating subliminal messages achieved average grades in the range of a high B to low A. Group three, the control, received an average grade in the low B range. In addition, those who received subliminal messaged had higher retention of the learned material after one month than the control group had.
Medical Clinic Uses Subliminal Tapes to Reduce Fainting, Smoking, and Temper Flare Ups…
In 1951, Dr. Hal Becker, a behavioral scientist and former member of the Tulane University Medical Staff, began investigating subliminal processes. Dr. Becker has published dozens of research articles which support the effectiveness of subliminal stimulation. One of Dr. Becker’s investigations, presented in a scientific paper to the Ninth Annual Conference of Computer Medicine in Atlanta in 1979, involved the use of subliminal stress reduction messages incorporated into the sound system at the McDonagh Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. A seven-month trial produced dramatic results. Fainting caused by needle pain dropped to nearly zero, smoking in the staff lounge was cut as much as 79%, and the temper flare-ups in the crowded patient waiting room were reduced by nearly 60%. When the subliminal messages were stopped, these problems returned to former levels.
Subliminal Tapes Influence Dramatic Weight Loss…
Becker’s research has shown that the use of subliminal messages can influence weight-loss with astounding results. In Metairie, Louisiana, at Dr. Becker’s weight loss clinic, patients were exposed to videotape and audio cassette subliminal messages as part of a behavior-modification diet plan. One woman lost 100 pounds in one year’s time. In a follow-up study, Becker found that 50% of the patients maintained at lease half their weight loss for up to two years after leaving the subliminal program, while 23% maintained 75% to 100% of their loss. This is a significantly better record than that of diet programs not accompanied by subliminal messages.
Another subliminal stimulation weight-loss study involved two experiments conducted by Silverman, Martin, Ungaro and Mendelsohn (1978) with two groups of overweight women. In addition to traditional diet therapy, half of the subjects received subliminal affirmations and half received neutral subliminal message stimulation. In both experiments, the groups receiving the positive subliminal messages lost more weight than the control groups. The group receiving subliminal affirmations continued to lose weight even after the experiment concluded.
Positive Proof Mind Absorbs Subliminal Information…
In another of Dr. Becker’s controlled tests of subliminal perception, experimental and control groups were asked to guess a three-digit number. The experimental group was exposed to the number subliminally embedded in a hissing sound known as ‘pink noise.’ In three separate experiments, an average of 77% of those exposed to the subliminal numbers guessed correctly, compared to only 10% of those in the control group (who weren’t exposed to the numbers). This confirms that subliminal messages are perceived at a non-conscious level.
HOW YOU CAN USE SUBLIMINAL PERCEPTION FOR SELF-IMPROVEMENT
Research indicates that subliminal perception takes place when the subconscious portion of the mind is exposed to messages below the level of conscious awareness. Subliminal audio and video recordings are proving to be a safe and effective, easy and convenient, inexpensive and enjoyable way people can bring about profound personal change in their lives.
Programming the Subconscious Mind to Create Your Reality…
Did you know that your mind creates your reality? It’s true. The functioning of the mind can be readily understood when considered in terms of the widely accepted view that the mind has both conscious and subconscious portions. The conscious portion of your mind is rational, logical and analytical. It questions and modifies incoming information from your sense before the information is stored in your subconscious mind.
The subconscious mind is non-analytical and houses the motivating forces that direct your conscious actions, thoughts, and habits. It affects your attitudes, how you feel, and what you do. The beliefs and thoughts you hold in your subconscious mind build and shape every aspect of your life.
In other words, your subconscious is what actually creates your life. This is why it is important to discover how to access the subconscious to remove negative, self-limiting beliefs and replace them with positive, life-enhancing beliefs.
The Secret of Subliminal Recordings
The secret of why subliminal recordings are so effective is simple: the positive messages on the tape directly access the subconscious mind. Other widely used self-improvement techniques work only on a conscious level. Unlike those methods, subliminal recordings permit you to work directly with that portion of your mind which actually maintains ongoing control of your life. You must effect change at a subconscious level if you want to make lasting improvements in your life.
Another reason subliminal programs and CD’s are so effective is that they permit positive messages to reach the subconscious without interference or modification from the conscious mind. This is important because often your conscious mind will question or reject certain statements that it knows are not presently true. For example, if you are using positive affirmations such as, “I am successful,” yet you know that success is not presently a part of your life, your conscious mind can negate the positive effect of the statement by rejecting it. Because subliminal messages bypass the conscious mind, the conscious mind cannot question or reject them.
Within your subconscious mind is the raw material that will automatically from your life tomorrow. Subliminal tapes and CD’s provide you with a powerful tool to imprint on your subconscious the positive images that you select as the basis for creating the kind of life you want. The information your subconscious mind accepts through subliminal perception becomes the new mental programming that changes your life and propels you toward your goals.
A Word of Caution: Not all Subliminal Tapes & CD’s are Equal…
Subliminal stimulation has been scientifically validated as a means to bring about desired behavioral change. However, not all subliminal tapes and CD’s are equal; their effectiveness depends on tow key factors: the content of the subliminal messages and the quality of production-including the engineering and electronic mixing of the sound recordings.
Certain production methods used by some companies claiming to contain 100,000 or more subliminal affirmations are of very questionable at best. In order to produce recordings with this number of affirmations per hour, the voice track must be speeded up until it becomes an unintelligible high-pitched squeal and or/ multi-layered many, many times until there is only a garbled confusion of sounds.
While 100,000 affirmations per hour may make attractive advertising copy, there is no documented evidence that the squeal of a high – speed sound track or the garbled confusion of many multi-layered tracks can be understood by the subconscious mind. In fact, the vast majority of scientific experiments that have been done on subliminal programs were done with surprisingly few affirmative statements. In fact, in the study referenced earlier by Dr. Parker, the students were only exposed to a very few subliminal statements at each session, and yet because the statements were carefully constructed, the results were dramatically positive.
There exists NO scientific proof that the subconscious makes meaningful responses to any input that is unintelligible. In fact, the overwhelming consensus from both professionals and the literature suggests that a subliminal verbal communication should be delivered slowly and methodically.
The importance of the content of the messages used on subliminal tapes and CD’s can’t be overemphasized. It is critical that the affirmations be positive since certain negative or aversive subliminal statements may not only decrease the effectiveness of the tape or CD, they may even be counterproductive. It is wise for anyone using subliminal programs to be aware of not only how the tapes and CD’s are made, but what messages are on them. Having a script of the exact statements on a subliminal program is invaluable. It will serve not only to inform you of the nature and content of the subliminal messages that will be programming your subconscious mind, but it can also serve as resource for conscious reinforcement.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS ON SUBLIMINAL PROGRAMS
Question: How do you use subliminal programs?
Answer: Subliminal mental programming is a passive process, relying on the natural ability of the subconscious mind to absorb information below the normal range of your conscious awareness. No active involvement, concentration, or relaxation is necessary for subliminal programs to work successfully.
Subliminal programs can be used anytime your like, day or night. Simply play the program in the background as you go about your daily activities. The programs do not have to be played at high volume. As long as you can hear the music or environmental sounds, your subconscious mind will pick up the subliminal suggestions in the program. They can be played as a soft, soothing background all day or night, even while listening to other music or TV. You can also soften the effect even further by adjusting the tone controls on your player.
Subliminal programs can be listened to anytime day or night while you are doing virtually any activity-relaxing, reading, studying, eating, talking on the phone, at the office, while you are exercising.
QUESTION: DO YOU SUGGEST USING MORE THAN ONE SUBLIMINAL PROGRAM AT A TIME?
ANSWER: The effectiveness of our subliminal programs can be compounded by using a compatible assortment of titles. However, in order to avoid overloading yourself, we recommend not working on more than 2 or 3 behavioral changes at a time. Programs not having to do with addictions or major life changes can be used together very effectively and will often work together to positively reinforce one another.
QUESTION: HOW OFTEN SHOULD I LISTEN TO THE SUBLIMINAL PROGRAMS?
ANSWER: You can’t really overdo listening to positive programs. The more often you listen, the faster you will begin to see results. It is recommended that you play your subliminal programs at least once a day and more often if possible. If you want to strengthen the effect of the programs and get results more quickly, listen to them several times each day and night.
QUESTION: HOW SOON CAN I EXPECT RESULTS FROM USING THE SUBLIMINAL PROGRAMS?
ANSWER: For many people there are immediate, observable, and in some cases, dramatic results after listening to our subliminal programs only a few times. However, because each person is unique, results will vary from person to person. Remember, it has taken years to create the life you have today. The results of listening to subliminal messages are cumulative, so the desired changes will occur provided sufficient repetitions and time are allowed for all levels of your consciousness to absorb the new positive programming. Almost everybody will be able to see positive improvement in 60 days or less.
QUESTION: ONCE I HAVE ACHIEVED RESULTS, DO I NEED TO CONTINUE LISTENING TO THE SUBLIMINAL PROGRAM?
ANSWER: If you are using a subliminal program to help you reach a specific goal, such as losing twenty pounds or quitting smoking, once you have achieved the goal, you may have no need to continue using the tape. However, many people find it helpful to continue playing the subliminal programs from time to time for positive reinforcement. If you feel a desire to return to an old habit such as smoking or eating foods that cause you to gain weight, we suggest you use the subliminal programs again regularly until the desire passes. You may wish to use some of our subliminal programs on an ongoing basis whenever you feel the need. This applies particularly to such titles as Stress Reduction, Start the Day Great, Stop Procrastination, and our many spiritual titles. The main principle is to use the programs as long as or as often as you feel you want or need their benefits.
Subliminal programs provide you with an effective and pleasant way to bring about lasting personal change. We combine the most advanced electronic technology with the latest scientific knowledge of how the mind works and how behaviors are determined to provide you with state-of-the-art subliminal programming. Many thousands have found that using our subliminal programs helped them improve their lives and achieve positive results that seem almost miraculous!

He was the greatest basketball player and possibly the greatest athlete who ever lived. The 63-year-old Wilt Chamberlain was reported to have died of a heart attack, but that tells you nothing. You are supposed to ask why the world’s greatest athlete would die of a heart attack?
He was born in 1936, in Philadelphia. He was 6-11 when he entered Philadelphia’s Overbrook High School, led them to three public school championships and two all-city titles, Chamberlain became one of the most recruited players ever with more than 200 colleges interested, scored more than 100 points in a single National Basketball Association game and averaged more than 30 points a game throughout his professional career. However, when he was in high school, he was the best high school quarter miler in the United States and ran under 48 second. He also high jumped over 6 feet, five inches and was the best shot putter in Pennsylvania. He remained active after his NBA career and was considered an outstanding volleyball player. He also ran in the Honolulu marathon and competed in a 50-mile race in Canada.
Long after his career ended, Chamberlain made news by claiming in an autobiography that he had had sex with 20,000 women. Let’s see how good you are in diagnosing disease. Chamberlain’s health first became an issue in the 1960s, when a former coach told the news media that the star player might have had a heart attack before the 1964 season. But Chamberlain denied it. In 1992, when Chamberlain gathered with former teammates for a halftime ceremony marking the anniversary of their 1971-72 NBA championship, he had to leave early because he was having trouble breathing. He was admitted to a hospital and found to have an irregular heart beat. He was released from the hospital after three days wearing a heart monitoring device.
During his last years, he was diagnosed as having cardiomyopathy which means that his heart was too weak to pump blood through his body and he lost 50 pounds in the months prior to his death. There are three causes of a weak heart muscle. Lack of nutrients, blocked arteries, and infection.
You can suffer from a nutritional deficiency such as beriberi caused by lack of the vitamin thiamine or pellagra caused by lack of the vitamin niacin. This is almost impossible today in North America. The second possible cause of a failing heart is blocked arteries caused by arteriosclerosis and he did not have a very high cholesterol and he did not have arteriosclerosis. The third possibility is an infection in his heart caused by such bacteria as chlamydia and mycoplasma.
The fact that he lost 50 pounds and was unable to go anywhere in the last months of his life point to a diagnosis of cardiomyopathy, that’s heart muscle damage, caused by infection with chlamydia or mycoplasma, from making love to considerably less than the 20,000 women that he claimed. That comes to 500 women per year, or 10 different women per week for 40 years, which would make the world’s greatest athlete, the most prolific lover of all time. Cardiomyopathy is often caused by chlamydia.
Chamberlain’s body was cremated, so we will never know for sure how he died.
Here are some quick and easy inner thigh exercises for women that’ll tone, shape, and basically give you sexy legs. Warning: You may actually start to enjoy working your legs.
Inner Thigh Exercises For Women
1. Wide Stance Squats
Take a barbell and put it across the back of your shoulders (you can also take a dumbbell and hold it between your legs). Then just squat down until your upper thighs are parallel to the ground. Doing 5-6 sets of 8-12 repetitions is ideal to bring out nicely toned inner thighs. I recommend you do this twice a week.
2. Jumping on a mini-trampoline
Jumping on a mini-trampoline works your whole thigh, but if you jump with your legs farther apart you’ll focus more of the exercise on your inner thighs. Simply jump on a mini-trampoline for 20 minutes a day.
Wait, you’re thinking, great I don’t have 20 minutes a day. Ok, fair enough. Do this then… jump on the mini-trampoline during tv commercials. A typical 1 hour tv show has 20-22 minutes of commercials. So there you go.
3. Wall Squats
This version of squats allows you to squat without having to go to the gym and without having to use weights. Find a wall and place your feet about 18 inches from the wall (from your heels). Place your feet about 30 inches apart, a wide stance. Now just squat down until your upper legs are parallel to the ground.
I recommend that you do as many repetitions of this as you can in less than 5 minutes. So this will have a good cardio weight loss effect to it.
Give these inner thigh exercises for women a try for a few weeks and you’ll notice that your legs will look a lot more toned and slimmer.
Governments and health care professionals across the world are becoming worried, very worried. Why? Because despite their best efforts to persuade people to eat a healthier diet and to take more exercise, the obesity epidemic is getting worse.
In Britain, by 2050 60% of men and 40% of women will be obese. The cost to the NHS is well over £4 billion a year and this will rise to over £6 billion by 2015. For a condition that is entirely preventable, this is an unacceptable burden on society. For millions of individuals it means a life of unrealised potential, unnecessary health problems and a very uncomfortable and unhappy old age. Obesity is set to sap the strength of the nation. It is the greatest health challenge we have ever faced.
So why is the obesity crisis seemingly out of control? What is driving more and more people to become overweight or obese? Of course it’s about eating and lifestyle habits. We are all individually responsible for what we put in our mouths and how much exercise we take, but there is a new dimension. Obesity has become socially contagious. The main driver of obesity is a social one.
What has happened is that being overweight or obese has become a new social norm. It is now perfectly acceptable to be overweight or obese. It is not seen as being out of the ordinary or different. If you are overweight or obese you are more than likely to have overweight or obese friends. You mix with people who don’t threaten or criticise you. You feel comfortable in their company. In fact friends have the greatest influence on body weight. You are nearly 60% more likely to be overweight or obese if you have overweight or obese friends.
The discovery, or realisation of this new dimension actually offers some amazing opportunities that could transform the way we tackle the obesity crisis. The basis for this optimism is that if obesity is socially contagious, then being slim can be socially contagious too. It has become a social problem that has a social solution.
Up until now all weight loss programs have been directed at the individual. They have all been singularly unsuccessful at delivering permanent weight loss. At best they have delivered short-term weight loss, but the weight comes back again in over 95% of cases. The main reason for this is that they have not been directed at the one thing that can deliver permanent weight loss, and that is behaviour change.
The simplest and most effective way to change behaviour is to learn new habits, slim habits. By modifying small behaviours (habits), complex behaviours can be changed. This is the method that is used in the Slim Habit behaviour change program, which also offers a very important ingredient – support.
The social solution to the obesity problem lies in the community. Why? Because it can offer unparalleled support. By mobilising and organising overweight or obese people within a community into groups, and giving them supervision, education, advice – and a good behaviour change programme, you can use the power of community to be the driver of change. Do this and you have the means to end the obesity crisis.
